Design for Print

Layout and design for printed documents is fast becoming my favorite work to do. Whether your project is an elegant coffee-table book, a technical tome, a brochure, or a document to be downloaded and printed by the end-user, the visual appeal is just as important as the grammar and ease of reading. The process is never as easy as "just copy and paste it!" I will add illustrations and photos, develop consistent page formatting, and provide grammatical and contextual editing/proofing.

I've been art director, editor, and designer on projects as diverse as a theological book on the crucifixion, a review of glass art beads, and step-by-step tutorials.

My print work is done using the latest version of Adobe Creative Suite — Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design — so I can easily provide the printer with the file format they require. I charge $50 an hour for book/magazine layout and design. As with all my work, the more polished material you provideand the less editing I have to do, the lower the cost.
