The world wide web is a wonderful thing... It has opened doors for businesses - small and large - to enter areas of market share that they could never reach otherwise. It has also allowed me to combine my creative nature with my varied business experiences so that I have a FUN JOB! Rascal Graphics is not a huge corporation. It's pretty much just me; so if I can't handle the job, I'll tell you. Neither one of us needs to waste our time or money. I can either do the whole site myself, subcontract parts of the site to other developers, or work with your own personnel - whatever makes you most comfortable. My husband and I started Complete Computers in 1987. We started selling PCs when that's just what they were - PCs (then came the AT, 286, 386, etc.) Because we were in a rather small town, we had to do it all: sales, service, support & training. My husband handled the hardware end, I handled the software end. From there I started doing graphic design, then I started my own invitation and printing business (under the Complete Computers' umbrella.) I later had a retail gift & invitation store, but with six kids at home, I almost worked myself to death! In 1996, Complete Computers became an ISP. We had to have a home page for our dial-up customers - so I learned how to do it. I saw how much web design relied on graphic design. I also realized I could combine the two and work both from the home and Complete Computers. Because of my background, I can not only do the graphic design and site layout, I can also consult on your site planning and marketing, design logos and printed material for your business, etc. My house is down to four kids now, but they are four active boys! My schedule is split between being a mom, wife, glass bead artist, and web/graphic designer. I work hard, and I do excellent work, but it's often a slow process. If you need a quick turnaround, I could accomplish that, but at my family's expense. So if you're in a hurry, then I may not be the person to do your site. Take all of this into perspective and see what you think. I'm willing if you are! |
